Mr. C.T.W. (Christian) van Dijk
After completing my law studies at Utrecht University, I started working as a lawyer in 2008 in the fields of criminal law, administrative law, immigration law, asylum law and later in the field of psychiatric patients law. For years I have been a member of the Association of Asylum Lawyers in the Netherlands (VAJN) (Link) and the Specialist Association of Migration Lawyers (SVMA).
DEDICATION
With great dedication, I try to provide legal aid in understandable language to anyone who needs it: I believe that everyone should have the right to bring their case to court.
Accessibility of legal aid for people with little wealth or income is very important to me, which is why our office has a free consultation hour every Monday evening.
IN THE NEWS
The Highland murder case, in which Ron K. was acquitted of murder in 2019 (but sentenced for manslaughter) was a case that was very much in disrepute (link).
“Drug boss” Boub L. was assisted by me in 2020: he is seen as the Pablo Escobar of Brabant (link).
Cor B. was assisted by me in 2019 in the case regarding the death of an 8-year-old child in Nieuwegein (link).
One of the most well-known cases I have dealt with is the case of Aydin C., who was suspected of extorting 15-year-old Canadian webcam girl Amanda Todd, who committed suicide in front of the webcam (link).. I can also be seen in the mini-series The Fifth Estate, which made a documentary about this cybercrime case (link). Omroep Brabant also devoted a broadcast to this case and the irregularities that took place in it (link). Nieuwsuur interviewed me about the spy software (keylogger) I discovered (link).
In 2016 I assisted Charles van E., one of the board members in that year’s largest money laundering fraud concerning Centurion Vastgoed (link). I also assisted Dominque van D. in the largest money laundering fraud case in 2017 concerning healthcare provider Vivence (link).
In the past I defended the interests of some Hells Angels and I defended the minor “head kickers” from Zeist (link).
I am specialized in asylum and immigration matters too. The NRC Handelsblad interviewed me in early 2020 about problems at the Immigration and Naturalization Service (link) and in 2019 I also gave my vision in the NRC Handelsblad about the procedural (im)possibilities that sick asylum seekers face (link). The Algemeen Dagblad interviewed me in 2016 about the asylum problems at that time (link).
