Mr. D.W.M. (Dimphy) van Erp
I have been a lawyer at Van Dijk Advocatenkantoor since January 2018. I completed both a Bachelor and a Master at Utrecht University. During the Master I gained board experience for a year as a full-time member of the University Council. This offered me many special opportunities, including the opportunity to participate in discussions on policy issues and the future of the University. I also published an article in a renowned management magazine (link) and I was a member of the College of Appeals for Examinations (CBE) of the University. In my daily practice I still reap the benefits of these experiences.
Before I started as a lawyer, I had several years of experience with the legal profession as a legal assistant. My childhood desire to become a lawyer has been confirmed over the years. It gives me energy to help people who, in any way, feel disadvantaged because of a legal problems they face and to work with them to achieve the best possible result. The areas of law I focus on are criminal law, asylum law and immigration law. I am also familiar with social security law: I regularly litigate against municipalities and the UWV on, for example, benefit issues.
I represented Cor B. in the case concerning the death of the 8-year-old child in Nieuwegein. Currently I am representing one of the suspects of a kidnapping that took place in the summer of 2019 (link).
BUSINESS, FRIENDLY AND CLEAR
In my contact with clients and other parties I like to be business-like but friendly. I expect the same from my clients. I like clear communication and always put the interests of my clients first before, during and after advice or procedure. This also means that I make a realistic estimation of possible risks and that I eliminate all sides of the matter.
